While it may have been effective in providing basic information about the restaurant, the owner felt the lack of design may have been hurting sales rather than helping. Coming up with the theme was easy since the restaurant and catering concepts are based on a VW Beetle turned into a Smoker. Food images as well as a cartoon car theme were added. The owners natural southern speech is incoporated along with strong related key words. The new site should entice visitors to stop in or cater their next event with BeetlesBBQ. The online coupons will help the owner decide where to place his advertising dollars. Hosting was moved to allow easy updates.<br><br><a href='http://beetlesbbq.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

The site's main focus is small business success stories.<br /><br />We developed a clean webstandards layout using CSS and XHTML with PHP code to fill the content. Related news feeds from various resources have been added. The blog was modifed to have a consistent look to the rest of the site, and allows the content writers easy site content updates. The site utilizes various advertising media to monetise the site including Amazon products, google ads, and even some specialty affiliate programs.<br><br>We decided to end this project due to lack of time to support it.";

clientData[3] = "<strong>BlueHavanaCigars</strong> is a customer centric cigar and gift shop. This is a redesign of the customers original site. I wanted to give him more of a unique look and to bring in a theme which ties to cigars, so we chose some pictures of Havana, Cuba that illustrate the old city, a famous cigar factory, and the old cars of Cuba.<br><br><a href='http://bluehavanacigars.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[4] = "<strong>Jerry Deeds</strong> is a fine art and travel photographer and was one of my first clients. I chose to build DeedsArt.com with Flash because I had been using it to create my own website galleries. Using sliding menu buttons and thumbnail images one can easily navigate through the multitude of images available on Jerry's site. I chose the black background because it made his colors pop. Jerry gave me complete freedom to design his site. I also built a duplicate HTML based site with a similar look for Jerry's clients who do not like Flash based sites.<br><br>Update 2007: After many years Jerry has redesigned his site and had it coded by his son, who has started his own web development business.";

clientData[5] = "<strong>Lamin-x</strong> is a manufacturer of precut protective films for automotive and industrial uses. The owner of Lamin-x wanted to refresh his site design. Working with his graphic designer we developed a site that had more product images and more information than the previous site. Also scheduled is an update to the storefront and possibly adding a new forum for his customers to provide product feedback.<br><br><a href='http://lamin-x.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[6] = "<strong>Lamin-x v.2005</strong> is a redesign of the customers original site. The customer was frustrated with the limitations of software provided by his former host to create his site and wanted something more flexible and something he could maintain. Additionally his online store died unexpectedly. This version was updated in 2006.<br><br>This version is no longer active.";

clientData[7] = "<strong>manzercontracting.com</strong> is a website for a remodeling contractor to be used to showcase previous work for interested prospects. I developed a clean webstandards layout using CSS and XHTML and no PHP. The customer was hosted by a free web service without many features so I had to keep the code to a minimum. The finished project has 8 pages with room for expansion but the menus will have to be updated for each page when ever there are changes. Each room remodeling project has a thumbnail gallery of 6 or 9 images which when clicked replace a large image on the right. The remodeler had several arch images so I used that to create a common theme in the header and images selected. Serif text was chosen to match the text on his cards, vehicles, and other advertising.<br><br><a href='http://manzercontracting.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[8] = "<strong>RVM</strong> is a consultant for Alcoa. This resume site was a gift from son to father to help him expand his consulting practice should his primary customer, Alcoa, run outof work. The site content is a work in progress but the layout is done.<br /><br />I created a simple ribbon at the top with a stock image suggesting consultation with left or right information boxes and a centered main content section. Clean and fresh and very simple CSS, HTML design. Room to grow the menu for additional pages, with reusable heading footing and sidebars. Blue and white for traditional business colors. No flash or javascript to impede visitors browsers.<br><br><a href='http://rvmconsultingservices.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[9] = "<strong>Time-n-Chime</strong> is a clock sales and repair shop near Shriveport LA. The owner needed an update to an ecommerce site that no longer functioned. <br /><br />I began by accumulating stock art from some of the finer clock manufacturers and laying them down on the page to suggest that clocks and chimes are part of ones life. From there my colors began to be determined and just a simple gradient bar at the top was all that was needed. The site utilizes an OSCommerce store front which was customized to have continuity with the rest of the site.<br><br><a href='http://timenchime.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[10] = "<strong>track-systems.com</strong> is the corporate site for Traqmate.com (below). The company plans to add more racing related products and needed a corporate site separate from the Traqmate site.<br /><br />I chose Flash to create this site because I wanted some movement in the left menu and a scrollable text box plus some image effects. This site did not require as much content or interactivity as the traqmate.com site so keeping it simple but not boring was the goal. The background images are by Carter Martin one of the Traqmate Team members. I modified the images to create the grayish background which provides an interesting canvas for the text. Site text is loaded from a single text file which is easy to maintain.<br><br><a href='http://track-systems.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[11] = "<strong>traqmate.com v. 2006</strong> is an update to my earlier work for traqmate. Traqmate is racing analysis hardware and software which uses GPS data acquisition to display race track performance. See site for more product information.<br /><br />Traqmate wanted a new look for the 2006 racing season. So their graphic designer and I explored a few racing sites and pulled together a theme which has classic racing images in black and white while the products are featured in color. Some new features were added to make the site a little more dynamic too.<br><br><a href='http://traqmate.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[12] = "<strong>www.traqmate.com</strong> is a site design for a new product. Traqmate is racing analysis hardware and software which uses GPS data acquisition to display race track performance. See site for more product information.<br /><br /><b>Requirements:</b><br />- site to be interactive and informative<br />- online store required with multiple payment options<br />- custom application to share traqmate files<br />- forums</li>- photography of products<br /><br /><b>Solution:</b><br />This site was a major challenge and alot of fun at the same time. Flash was chosen to create the menu at the top of the page so that motion could be incorporated. A custom application using PHP and mySQL database was developed to allow Traqmate owners to share lap data. Forums were added to help build community of users. OSCommerce online store offered the best solution for multiple payment options. This project also called upon my photography skills for product shots. I was fortunate to work with their graphic designer who supplied the custom fonts and guidance for look and feel. This project will be ongoing and refined over 2005.<br><br>This version no longer active";

clientData[13] = "<strong>www.hauteadornment.com</strong> is a site I designed and built for a custom jewelry company. Haute Adornment, inc. hand crafts jewelry from silver, gem stones, and other polished stones.<br /><br />The design was inspired by the oval logo at the top right. The swish design across the top was a happy accident in photoshop trying to create a curved design. Note: Curved designs are great for sites with minimal text, I would not recommend them for a text heavy site. The site is loaded with dynamically swapping images and text about Haute Adornments products. The largest challenge was making the related images and alternative images perform the image swaps.<br /><br />Expired: Company chose not to renew their website.";

clientData[14] = "<strong>www.got-bugs.com</strong> is a pest control and termite solutions company in the north Atlanta area. Got bugs? inc. owner Gary McClung has over 20 years in the pest control industry and offers a higher level of customer service than many of the bigger companies he has worked for.<br /><br />The site was modified from a standard 3 column CSS layout but inspired by the colors in the logo. We departed from the normal red,white,blue,black colors of most pest control companies. The owner wanted the site to be somewhat educational as well as easy to navigate. The owner will also be contributing to the site on a regular basis through his blog.<br /><br /><a href='http://got-bugs.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[15] = "<strong>faxSolutions.us</strong> is a service provider for companies who recieve thousands of faxes per month. They help companies automate their data entry and document management.<br /><br />The redesign came at the request of owner Kevin McQueen so he could manage his own site and to give it a more up to date look. The design focuses on a 2 column layout with strong menu and link visibility to help users navigate to areas of interest. Colors were chosen based on vendor site relationships to allow some commonallity. The site is mostly standards compliant except for an user guide and the use of tables in a few areas. <br /><br /><a href='http://faxsolutions.us' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[16] = "<strong>WebDevelopersBookstore.com</strong> is a personal experiment to test the Amazon A-store concept and its use as an ecommerce solution.<br /><br />The design is a simple header and an iframe to load the automated A-store content. I also added a blog to create more relevant content so the search engines will find the site. The site is hosted as a subdirectory of esearing.com/web-developers-bookstore with a parked domain pointing to it. If this experiment produces income, I may try other Associate-o-matic or A-store storefronts. My current investment is $6.95 for the domain name. <br /><br /><a href='http://webdevelopersbookstore.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[17] = "<strong>Meeting Universe.com</strong> is resource site for meeting planners and the vendors, hotels, and services they use. The site owners are creating a single resource where planners can review/rate suppliers and locations, search for quality providers, and forums to discuss their experiences.<br /><br />I became involved with this project through a template design contest at sitepoint.com. The yellow/blue/grey concept was different than most of the other designs. The site owner also asked me to make the look of his forums, blog, and supplier database congruent with the rest of the site. The site features news and rss parsers which brings in fresh content. The design is mostly HTML and CSS with a touch of Javascript for the dropdown menus.<br /><br /><a href='http://meetinguniverse.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[18] = "<strong>TheFutureForce.org</strong> is an organization which provides educational programs and opportunities for low income families. The Future Force Group focuses on the highest performing students who are lacking the opportunity for a good education due to financial circumstances. FutureForce Group provided educational materials, fieldtrips, and even help students find scholarships.<br /><br />My involvement with this organization came about through my venture partner in biz-story. Kia Lee and her mother Cynthia Newell are the social entrepreneurs behind the program. Kia and Cynthia provided the content and general layout they wanted. I encorporated some elements I had used in other sites to make this a truly robust site. The mashup of features includes an Amazon Affiliate Reading list, Paypal Donation Form, and even a link to their CafePress store. All of which will help monetize the site. Structure is HTML/CSS and mostly webstandards compliant.<br /><br />The Future Force Group is truely a benevolent organization. They empower people to rise above their circumstance. I encourage you to visit the site and make a tax-deductible donation.<br /><br /><a href='http://thefutureforce.org' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[19] = "<strong>BlueHavanaGolf</strong> is a sub-project for blueHavanaCigars. The owner took up golf and got hooked. So he asked me to create an amazon associates site to sell golf equipment and other merchandise. He even plans to create a line of Blue Havana merchandise to market as well.<br><br> The header design is made up of two images from Cuba's golf course at Veradero. The rest of the storefront is powered by the Associate-o-matic software and Amazon's array of products.<br><br><a href='http://bluehavanagolf.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[20] = "<strong>PetScratch.com</strong> is a personal project. I wanted a broad topic to expand my Amazon Associates program into. I keep hearing people talk about their pets and all the pet rescue programs, so I figure it is broad enough to attract an audience. I also plan to donate some of the proceeds to animal charity groups.<br><br> The design is a simple header featuring a puppy. the blue and yellow color scheme was something I landed on by accident while working on another mockup. The rest of the storefront is powered by the Associate-o-matic software and Amazon's array of products.<br><br><a href='http://petscratch.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[21] = "<strong>Adattsi.com </strong>is a one-stop shop for all energy conservation solutions in Ireland. Adattsi is has developed an innovative concept, which meets a current market need for improvements in Energy Conservation and Reduction. <br><br>I became involved with the company through a design contest for their new website. It was my first experience working with a client internationally but proved to be a lot of fun. The site is a simple header and two column design with a black, white, and blue theme. I added my signature swish as an element across the top. This site style is a good layout for a brochure site since the two opposing colored columns can give equal weight to a great deal of content. <br><br><a href='http://addatsi.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[22] = "<strong>MortgagesUKwide.co.uk</strong> is a mortgage advisory company in England. I became involved with this project through a design request to improve the look of the existing site, which was a simple white background with a touch of red and grey on buttons. Their development company Okapixel Technologies (okapixel.com)is responsible for the implementation of the design and any new elements. <br /><br /> I used a blue theme with a 3 column layout interupted by various menu options. The home page was the most difficult of the layouts while the back pages were simplified to allow for large volumes of content. No fancy code tricks in this one other than CSS postioning and clearing.<br /><br /><a href='http://mortgagesukwide.co.uk' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[23] = "<strong>HavanaBananas.com</strong> is a sub-project of blueHavanaCigars. The owner decided he needed an outlet to express his more extreme views about cigars, politics, and whatever else crosses his mind.<br /><br />The site design is a box-in-a-box-in-a-box design which layers rectangles in an easy to navigate site. The main focus of the site will be the blog and the online stores.  I used wordpress for the blog, OSCommerce for the catalog, and Associate-o-Matic for the Apparel shop. We outsourced the logo as a design contest and got a lot of bang for the buck. Stock imagery gives the site some additional color and flavor. While the design is simple the owners writing style will add life.<br /><br /><a href='http://havanabananas.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[24] = "<strong>SailingJournals.com</strong> was created to help those living aboard a boat to communicate with their friends and family. clientData[25] = "<strong>CallInspectAll.com</strong> offers Pest Control and Home Inspection Services in the greater Metro Atlanta area. The owners contacted me to redeisgn their old site which was based on a 5 page hosted template. The design uses a simple header and 3 column design which simplifies on the back pages. There is heavy use of images from the company's archives and from istock photo. <br><br><a href='http://callinspectall.com' target='_blank'>view site</a>";

clientData[26] = "<strong>AllAroundAtlanataCatering.com</strong> is the enhanced catering business of BeetlesBBQ.
